TUSB3410: [RS232] Legacy hardware flow control

Have you ever heard the "legacy Hardware Flow Control"?

The control mechanism is described as below.

Does TUSB3410 can support this communication flow? Or we need to use traditional uart to rs232 interface IC controlled by the comupter?

Thanks for your feedback.

Still have two questions as below

1. Is that possible to connect the nRTS of TUSB3410 with the other one? In this scenario both are outputs, will there be any chance damaging chips?

2. Is that possible to connect the CTS of TUSB3410 with the other one? Both of them are inputs, could one of them changes its direction?

Dear Brian,

The other one may be the RS-232 interface of the other device.

To be more specific, might we have two TUSB3410 communicate like that (Legacy Hardware Flow Control)?

probably not, RST out put request to CTS for input, but RST to RST can not communicate.
