DS90UB953-Q1: Details of Reg 0x77 and 0x79

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Hi team,

Our customer refers to the following materials for design reference.

http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla267a/snla267a.pdf

There is the following explanation on page 14, but REG 0x77 and 0x79 are not published in the 953 data sheet.

Are 0x77 and 0x79 available?

If so, could you give me more details?

I want to know if it is effective for error detection.

Best regards,

Tomoaki Yoshida

  • Hi Tomoaki,

Yes, these registers are not public in the datasheet so we can't share the details on the functionality. We'll have to go back and update the document you mentioned, so it removes those particular references. Now, what register 0x79 is doing, can also be extracted from 0x52. 0x52[5]  will get flagged to indicate if there's any errors during transmission over the BCC. Additionally, 0x52[1] will let you know if that error was on the back channel. 0x77 register is for testing purposes on our end. 0x5D is an alternative register that is public and can be used to check if you are receiving ECC errors.

    Thanks,
