SN65DPHY440SS: Swap positive and negative pins, DP and DN

Team,

To make routing much simpler, our customer would like to swap the use of the DxxP with DxxN pins. So the positive goes to negative on the input, and the same swap is done on the output.

Can this be done with the SN65DPHY440SS?

The DPHY440 does not support polarity inversion, the same polarity must be maintained between the source and sink.

Hi David,

I made a simple diagram to show what I mean. I want to make sure I explained it right. I thought Polarity Inversion was a feature you would use if only one of the source or sink is inverted. In this case both are inverted.

Can you confirm?

No, the DPHY440 can't support polarity inversion, the above proposal will not work in DPHY440 default state.

The only way it will work is that if the DPHY440 is in I2C mode and only HS mode is always enabled.
