Dear Sir.

Please help me to confirm that TI's SerDes use POC and STP. We have some question on following?
1. What is the distance between POC and STP guarantee max?
2. If the customer has a demand of more than 20 meters, does TI have the recommended reinforcement components, such as the series of comparison tables to ensure that this condition can be achieved.
3. It is still recommended to set those conditions, such as low speed Mode, to reach 20 meters guarantee?

Dear AJ

1. DS90UB953A does support POC (power-over-cable and supports POC on both STP as well as Co-axial cable)

2. How many meters we can support depends on the following factors:

a. Type of cable, Cable Insertion loss(lower the better) and Return loss as well as skew between + and -

b. Resolution and fps. What is the data rate requirement?

Hi AJ,

The 953A device was designed to support the Leoni DACAR 462/302 cable up to 15 meters.

You can, however achieve 20 meters by using better cables. In order to achieve 20 meters cable reach, you must have cables that can meet the channel requirements. If you take a look at table 7 in the DS90UB960-Q1 datasheet, you can find the requirements for a channel consisting of STP cables.
