P82B96: Datasheet parameter definition

Part Number: P82B96

Hello,

Could you please tell me the difference of the definition of these technical terms on the datasheets? It is on Rx and Ry column.

「Input logic level high」、「Input threshold」、「Input logic level low」.

I do not understand Input threshold (Vcc x 0.5).

Regards,

Itoh

  • Hey Kazuki-san,

The Input logic level high is the voltage that you need to pull the RX/RY line above inorder for the device to recognize a High. The Input logic level low is the voltage you need to pull the RX/RY line below inorder for the device to recognize a low. The input threshold value is technically where the trip point for the device to switch between a high or a low. You can think of the difference between the input logic level high and the input threshold as the hysteresis value. Same can be said for input logic level low and the input threshold.

    Example:

So you you drive low below the input logic level low and then there is noise on the line that is above the input logic level low but not above the input threshold, then the low is maintained in respect to our device.

    Thanks,

    -Bobby

  • Hey Bobby-san,

OK, it means hysteresis. Thanks, I understand!
