Hi Team, I have some questions about SERDES.

Normally, SERDES is used to convert data between serial data and parallel interfaces in each direction.

Also, coaxial cable is commonly used for high speed communication and data transfer on long distance of vehicle interface.

But, in case of short distance, we don't need SERDES to connect between image sensor and ECU.

In other words, we can use the parallel data as image sensor output to connect directly with ECU.

Here's the question: Even though conversion(parallel to serial) is not necessary, is there any case to use SERDES?
                                 If yes, what's the purpose of using SERDES?
