Hi team,

Customers have the following questions：

1. Customers use TPS65987-90EVM + 10G-EXPANSION-EVM board. The output of computer Type-C port is connected to the display through DP interface on sink board. Testing Huawei two computers, Dell two computers, MacBookpro computer have picture output, and Millet two computers have no picture output. Confirm that the type-C port of millet computer can output DP signal (because connecting other DP to HDMI docks can display pictures). Is there compatibility problem and how to verify or adjust it?

2. Samsung Galaxy S8 mobile phone with DP ALT MODE, can it directly access the Type-C port to display? (Connecting DP TO HDMI dock can also be displayed)

EVM default FW is to act as a host (i.e. DP source). Application customization tool should be used to have appropriate settings to configure EVM to act as DP sink.

Are you correctly programming EVM to act as a DP sink? If you are please share your project file and FW version that you are programming.

I don't know why Millet's computer doesn't display the screen, nor can Samsung S8 with DP ALT mode. Is there any protocol compatibility problem?

Amy,

There could be DP pin assignment compatibility problem. The project file that you are using uses pin assignments C and D for UFP_D. Which should be good for Type-C Hosts like Type computer or Type-C phone.

Please send me PD trace log for me to look at and see if there is DP configuration problem that is occurring.
