TPS65987D: Flash Programmer recommendation for production/gang programming

Part Number: TPS65987D

Greetings,

We are using the TPS65987D in collaboration with MX25L8006EM2I-12G; The flash memory used to store the binary file generated by the TI Configuration Utility.

Till now, to program the USB PD Controller on all our boards, we have been using the USB-SPI bridge on the TPS65987EVM to program all our boards for testing.

We are moving into mass production soon and need sustainable solutions for programming the flash on this system.

Based on TI's experience with production lines of this device, what would be your recommended tool to proceed with the gang programming or production programming of the binary generated by TI's custom application utility? In general, it would be important to have some recommendations of readily available programmers

Thanks

  • Hi Rachit,

Based on our experience with other customers, they will usually flash the SPI chip first using a tool and from there a pick and place machine could be used to have it mounted on a PCB. We can't give any specific recommendations however as we do not go through this process.

    Thank you,

    Hari
