How does DS954 process two cameras input?

Hi,

When two cameras are connected to DS954, DS954 will output the two frames combined with the two inputs to the next device with ports CSI_D0N~D3P.

My question is whether the two frames have there own vsync signals, or combined together? If I have a MIPI host connected after, can the two frames be figured out when the next two frames just get some overlaps with the former two frames?

Hello,

There are multiple different forwarding modes for the CSI-2 port on 954. Please see the datasheet for more details on different options, but most commonly the incoming video streams are assigned individual virtual channels (this is the default). Then the sink device can recognize the different frames by those virtual channel identifiers. All sync signals are separate.
