Thanks for your questions on tps25831.
Pls. find my comment as below:
1: output is SW output is unstable --> The device have the switching frequency support spread spectrum function, this is why you found in the test waveform . This feature is good for EMC performance.
2: PCBA temperature is too high--> how many T case temperature you have measure ? This device have a big thermal PAD in the bottom of the device , so it will help heat dissipated .
3: in full load 3.1A, the output will up to 5.5V.--> This device has Vout calbe drop compensation. If you don't need this function you can set the Rmon resistor to Oohm , then the Vout will not come up as the current increase.
