TUSB2046B: USB HUB Configuration question

Part Number: TUSB2046B

Hello,

In the '2046-PlainSelfPower' reference design, DM and DP signals have 15 kOHM pull-down resistors.  Can you please let me know the purpose of these?  The 15 kOHM pull-down resistors are not mentioned in the datasheet.  I also need to find out if I can omit them if the signals are connected to an onboard USB device.

  • Hi Peace,

The TUSB2046B is a full speed (12 Mbps)  hub.  Full speed hubs require the external 15K pulldown resistors.  Most of the later USB 2.0 high speed (480 Mbps) hubs integrated the 15K pulldown resistors.

    Regards,
