The devices can tolerate open inputs, but it is usually best to tie one half of the differential input (e.g., A) to VCC and the other half (e.g., B) to ground in order to provide a valid differential input level. This can be done either via pull-up/down resistances or via direct connections and prevents the outputs from oscillating or otherwise toggling based on coupled noise. The single-ended outputs can be left floating/disconnected.
