DS90UB954-Q1: It should reset 954 when some errors happen.

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP, USB2ANY

954 and 953 will work well after init  ,  I can receive pictures from a sensor.(I use a FPGA platform)

But maybe some errors happen,954 will stop transmit pictures,at this moment,it's link and pass in the register 0x04.

I have tried many methords , but only rest 954 will work to resume the transmission.

I want to know what  error  causes 954 stop working ,and is there another way to restart the transmission except reset 954?

Thanks

Yue

  • Hello Yue,

can you send me the register dump from the 954 at the beginning of transmission and after it stops working, and one more time after resetting it?

  • Hi Hamzeh,

    Sorry to reply you late.

The set of 954 is shown below

    When the access can't work,we read 0x4d ,the value always changes,maybe 0xed\0x45\0x4d.

And I found that 0x7B maybe 0xff on a large probability. Is the count full so that 954 doesn't work?

I am looking forward to your reply

Register 7B going to ff is an effect, not a cause. Register 7B basically counts CSI errors. CSI errors seem to be happening due to something else . Same with Reg0x4D, basically it is showing that you are seeing link errors. Do you have access TI ALP tool kit? Can you run diagnostics , MAP tool? It is in 954 product folder on how you can run this

    Thanks

    Vijay

  • Hi Vijay,

The error I met is on our board we made by ourselves, not on the FPD-LINK III .So I can't use the ALP to debug.

The only way I can do is to read the registers one by one,is there any other ways?

I am looking forward to your reply .Thank you so much.

  • Hello Yue,

You can use ALP even with your own design. ALP supports USB2ANY dongle which can be bought from TI.com or you can use Aardvark tool.
