TUSB1044: TUSB1044 in C TO C cable application

Hello,

On the 10G Type-C C TO C wire, the male to the public wire, the TUSB1044 is used to extend the length of the wire. Is it suitable for this application? If not, is there any other IC suitable?

Without the PD protocol IC, regardless of the Alt mode switching, only 4 pairs of differential line parts are used. For the wire, as long as it can redriver for 4 pairs of differential signals, whether it is a DP signal or a USB 3 signal.

if DP is needed, you need PD controller.

Hi Brian，

If I only use the wire, the signal is only to communicate with the host and the back device, do I need to add the PD controller online, similar to the TPS65987?
Is there any other IC that can be used to extend the signal on the wire, can the TDP158 ?

if you use Type-C connector for DP, you do need PD controller.
