DS90UB948-Q1: Frame valid counter or pulse signal

My customer is trying to diagnose an issue and would like a way to know if valid frames are making it across the link.

Are there any (hidden) registers in 948 or 949 that reports how many frames have been sent over the link, or otherwise output a "FrameValid" pulse from a GPIO pin?

Hello Alan,

My suggestion would be to monitor the active horizontal and vertical resolutions using the method described in this app note section 4.5, step 5:

If the detected resolution is 0x0 then there is no valid video coming through.

Does this method to read the detected resolution work only in PatGen BIST mode, or does it work in mission mode?

This method works in mission mode and does not disrupt the video output.
