TPS65987DDJ: PD did not ACK Enter mode, and re-request SVID with 2 objects

Hi Team,

My customer is connecting a notebook to the monitor (using our TPS65987DDJ) with a particular cable and it always could not display.(other cable did not have such issue)

after the initial VDM discover identity, SVID, and notebook issue Enter mode request, but PD did not ACK. after ~ 120msec, the PD re-issue Discover SVID, but this time, it send the number of object code = 2.

Shouldn't be the SVID request is alway with 1 object (as in teh first request)?

Will our TPS65987DDJ able to response properly when the SVID request is with 2 object?

Shouldn't we expect the notebook to continue to send out request commend (discover mode request)?

Can you please provide some more info on the cable you are using? Is this the same cable as your other post?

Hi Eric,

The cable used with the issue is Hotron Precision cable, D0018100R20QSD, the emark chip used is FL7031. In this case, Amphenol cable (emark chip RT4731) is OK.

It is not the same cable with the other case (VIA cable, emark chip VL152). In fact, this cable is ok for the other case
