TCAN1043-Q1: "with CAN FD and WAKE" ?

Part Number: TCAN1043-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043

Hi there,

TCAN1043 is with CAN FD and WAKE, what does this WAKE mean? been waken up or wake up others ?

if to wake up others, like MCU, what's the usual method to do so? use the level change from INH pin or other pins?

Can this part been waken up by CANBUS? HOW?

THANK YOU!

  • Hello,

The device allows for a system to support a low power sleep mode in which the MCU and other devices not connected to the battery can be powered off. In this mode, the transceiver can wake up either by detecting CAN bus activity that meets the criteria for a wake-up pattern (as defined by ISO 11898-2) or by detecting a state change on the WAKE pin. When this occurs, the TCAN1043 pulls the INH output up to the battery voltage. This INH line can be used to enable the systems power regulators and thus trigger wake-up of the other ICs on the PCB.
