Do we have CAN device without time out function?

The customer don't want the CAN device have time out function

    Hi Kevin,

    I don't believe we have any CAN devices that operate at 2Mbsp without this feature. Some alternatives would be SN65HVD251-Q1 with 1Mbps or SN65HVD230 as a 3.3V option, also 1Mbps.

    Though Dominant timeout is considered an optional feature by ISO 11898, it is very important in standard multi-node networks. If a fault were to occur in a single node that caused the driver to constantly pull dominant, no other devices would be able to communicate using the bus. The timeout allows such faulty nodes to release control of the bus, allowing other nodes to arbitrate and continue communication.

    Dear Eric,

    Our cusotmer just utlize the feature of CAN transceiver, not for the CAN communication.

    Or you can promote another solution which support these,

    -          Wired-AND(or Wired-OR),

    -          differential transferring,

    -          w/o timeout?

    Hi Kevin,

    Both devices listed above will support Wired-AND connectivity as differential drivers without a dominant timeout. 

    Let me know if you would like more recommendations and if so, what other specifications your design may require.
