DP83825I: Question about PHYADD

Part Number: DP83825I

Hi, Team,

When PHY ADDRESS is set with jumper short on the evaluation board and PHYCR_Register Register (Offset = 0x19) is read, it becomes as follows.

Jumper J17 (PHYADD1) PHY ADDRESS: 0x01
Jumper J18 (PHYADD0) PHY ADDRESS: 0x10

Which is the higher bit, PhyAdd0 (18pin) or PhyAdd1 (20pin)?

Best Regards,
Satoshi Yone

  • Hi Satoshi,

Pin 20 (CRS_DV) is the higher bit and pin 18 (RX_D0) is the lower bit. I looks like the EVM has a incorrect silk screen. J18 is connected to CRS_DV which controls the higher bit and J17 is connected to RX_D0 which controls the lower bit.
