Hi,

I am using TUSB8041 as 5 port USB 3.0. The upstream port is coming from processor. All downstream ports are working fine when I connect pendrive, keyboard, mouse. Even data transfer is happening between processor and slave. But when I connect USB based DVD burner (used to install OS), installation screen is not coming. Even it is taking long time to enter the BIOS screen. TPS2561 is used as a current limiter. The current limit resister used is 37.3k. I changed to 22k, but still the problem didn't solve. The current rating of DVD burner is 1.5A. Schematic is attached for reference. Kind help is requested.

Hi Pruthvi,

Can you try using an external power supply for the DVD drive, sometimes they pull a lot of current during spin up? Can you hear the DVD driver spin up properly?

Hi JMMN,

It's spinning but not upto expected..The spinning when I connect to my board is less than the spinning when I connect to some random pc.

Have you tried powering it from a PC power supply as a test? DVD drives can consume a lot of power, it may exceed the expected inrush current supplied by your board.
