XIO2001: External EEPROM

Part Number: XIO2001

Dear Technical Support Team,

I see following E2E and it said "The XIO2001 will work just fine without EEPROM”.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/p/612920/2258811#2258811

I checked attached 6406.8240104C.zip and compared between default setting of Datasheet and EEPROM contains.

It seem two difference. Could you please the meaning about this. How behavior does XIO2001 with EEPROM(8240104C.wr3) ?

I'd like to know that what register setting should I change for using XIO2001.

PCI C8h : 80h →8240104C.wr3    00h→Datasheet default (EN_L2_PWR_SAVE=1)

PCI EFh : 00h →8240104C.wr3    01h→Datasheet default (CACHE_TIMER_UPPER_LIMIT=1)

XIO2001.xlsx

Best Regards,

  • Hello-

As explained in the referenced e2e post, the  XIO2001 will work well without EEPROM and with datasheet defaults. The the PCIe-to PCI drivers in the operating system will configure the XIO2001 as needed including the registers PCI C8h and PCI EFh.

Setting the register PCI C8h = 80h and PCI EFh = 00h is acceptable as well.

    Regards,

    Davor
