Hi Sir,

My customer is asking if they can cascade 3 Retimer in one path, is it workable?

Did you cascade Retimer in real case before? how many pcs Retimer are you cascade,

Please help to advice.

    Hi,

    Though three cascaded retimers is not a configuration TI has actively validated, I would not expect an issue with it. My two suggestions would be:

    • Ensure the minimum insertion loss in between retimer channels is at least 4dB
    • Do not apply retimer Tx FIR post-cursor. FIR pre-cursor is ok
