TFP410: RGB888 to HDMI converter

In one of my project we need to add HDMI display. We are using MCU with inbuilt LTDC means RGB888 output. So now we want to convert RGB888 to HDMI Output to connect any monitor. Before i design my PCB i have few questions.

1.> Is TFP410 is right choice for this task?

2> is HDMI monitor size and resolution will be depend on output of RGB888 or HDMI will work independently ?

3> Is I2C bus is must to configure TFP410?

4>what is the maximum resolution& frame rate of monitor that we can connect to output of TFP410?

i am working first time on RGB to HDMI so i not have deep knowledge of it.

Hi Harwinder,

1. Yes, but please note that the TFP410 cannot support audio in the HDMI stream, as the device was designed for DVI1.0 which does not support audio.

2. Resolution depends on the monitor and the EDID, which will communicate with the RGB888 source.

3. I2C is not required unless you require using the DE generator.

4. The maximum resolution/frame rate depends on the amount of total pixels and required pixel clock frequency. In general, the max supported resolution for this device is 1920x1080@60Hz.

Hello Anyian one more question

I have 24 bit data bus R0-R7 G0-G7 B0-B7 How to connect these to D0-D15 of TFp410? Means in which order connections are right?
