Hi Sir,

I am checking the datasheet about DS90UB962-Q1 about mode selection. Due to this does not mention when we link DS90UB953-Q1 (Tx) DS90UB962-Q1 (Rx). Please kindly help to check what mode should we select in DS90UB962-Q1. The datasheet page 6 Table2. (Strap Configuration Mode Select)

    Please use CSI-2 mode when connecting 962 to 953.

    Hi Casey,

    Datasheet said there has 4 possible mode, it did not mention which mode is suitable for DS90UB953-Q1 vs DS90UB962-Q1. Kindly help to provide the information more detail.

    Configuration of the device may be done through the MODE input strap pin, or through the configuration register bits. A pullup resistor and a pulldown resistor of suggested values may be used to set the voltage ratio of the MODE input (VMODE) and VDD18 to select one of the four possible modes. Possible configurations are:

    • CSI-2 Mode (DS90UB935-Q1 compatible) – 40-bit forward channel frame – 50-Mbps back channel rate for serializer operation in Synchronous mode (default) – 10-Mbps back channel rate for serializer operation in Non-synchronous mode (must be programmed by setting BC_FREQ_SELECT register 0x58[2:0] = 010))

    • 12-bit LF / 12-bit HF / 10-bit RAW modes (DS90UB933-Q1 and DS90UB913A-Q1 compatible) – 28-bit forward channel frame – 2.5-Mbps back channel rate (default)

    Ja,

    953 is a CSI-2 serializer device so you should use CSI-2 mode as I stated before. The RAW modes are for backwards compatibility.
