Hello,

I have a USB type C application and am using a USB type C PD controller. The evaluation schematic (Different vendor than TI) shows a DP/USB mux with redriver but it only works till 5 GBPS. Their 10 gbps is not I-temp rated. I would like to use TUSB1046AI-DCI.

The flow of direction is Host (USB/DP) --> MUX --> USB type C connector (DFP) --> Monitor (Display)

If it is meant for what I am trying to do. See the attached picture. In addition, I also need a 2 : 1 mux. Can I use hd3ss214?

You can use HD3SS214I for the 2:1 DP MUX and TUSB1046AI for the 10G industrial temp for the Type C port.

Depends on the loss of the Test Connector, you may also need a re-driver for the DP path.

do I need to protect the 4 pairs on the USB type C with TPD4E02B04 or equivalent? These interface between the USB Type C RCPT and TUSB1046AI-DCI. I do plan to protect the SBU and CC pins with TPD4E02B04.

yes, it's better t protect USB3 signal with TPD devices,
