SN65DPHY440SS: SN65DPHY440SS application question

Part Number: SN65DPHY440SS

Hello,

I'd like to confirm if SN65DPHY440SS support polarity inversion, the datasheet describes that it doesn't support polarity inversion, and the below post is the same with datasheet, but as my opinion, it would be fine only if the same polarity  maintained between the source and sink, because the differential signals between P and N are opposite, which one is used P or N should be no problem and I don't understand why SN65DPHY440SS couldn't.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Best regards

DPHY440 input side has both HS RX and LP RX. The HS mode is entered when the required sequence of LP signals is detected by the LP state machine. In this mode, the internal termination for both the HS receiver and HS transmitter is enabled and the dynamic de-skew feature is enabled. The DPHY440 remains in this mode until a HS exit is detected by the LP state machine. Upon detecting the HS exit, the DPHY440 immediately transitions to LP Mode.

If the polarity is swapped, the LP signal will no longe be valid and the DPHY440 will not able to transition to the HS mode.

The only way it will work is that if the DPHY440 is in I2C mode and only HS mode is always enabled.

    Thanks
