TCA8418: I2C GPIO Expander with 8kV ESD Protection

Unfortunately I don't know of a GPIO expander device that has a leaded package and integrates >2000 V of HBM ESD protection.  If QFN/BGA packages cannot be used, then I think the best option is to pair one of our expander ICs with external ESD protection.  I will notify our ESD protection team of your post so that they can make a suitable recommendation.  In order to find the right part, they may want to know the desired VCC level (since this will determine the IO pin operating voltage range).

It seems that the best option is to add discrete ESD diode.

I can recommend our ESD portfolio we have many devices that are for 3.3V lines. Do you need a 1, 2 or 4 channel device?

If this is GPIO which is low speed I can recommend either ESD351 which is low clamping voltage single channel or ESDS312/4 which is a 2 or 4 channel with ultra low clamping voltage but might be over kill to protect the TCA8418.
