My customer is looking for LVDS buffer/repeater which has 5ch and over 600Mbps signaling rate.

Do you have any recommendation?

We do not have a 5 channel LVDS part, we do have 8 channel or 16 channel parts.

For parts with more than 600Mbps data rate, please refer to these parts: SN65LVDS387, SN75LVDS387, SN65LVDS389 SN75LVDS389, SN65LVDS391, SN75LVDS391.

I understand there is no product which has 5 ch.

Let me ask one question.

Your recommendation parts are "Driver".

"Driver" has same fuction of "Repeater/Buffer"?

Hi Akashi-san,

Repeater/buffer is not the same as a driver. For customer's application they can consider using the 4-channel DS90LV804 buffer + 1-channel DS90LV001 buffer.

Thank you for your suggestion. It is reasonable.

I will promote 4ch buffer + 1 ch buffer solution.

Also, I have question for LVDS Buffer and Repeater.

In TI.com quick search, there is two option for "Function" tab.

I'm not sure the difference between Buffer and Repeater.

Is there any difference between two?

In LVDS applications buffer and repeater are synonymous, so there is no difference.
