DP83867E: Boot Strapping Pins: Autoneg Disable

Hello, quick question for the forum members regarding the Boot Strapping on the DP83867 PHY. On page 37 of the datasheet they have the boot strapping pins highlighted in yellow. I notice on RX_CTRL it has Mode 4 highlighted which as I read it Autoneg Disabled. Why is highlighted? Is Mode 4 set to disable Autoneg and Mode 3 to enable?

Last, on GPIO_0 if I set it for MODE4 will that cause the PHY not to work or just disregard the setting if you are using SGMII? I am using SGMII to interface with my ARM+DSP.

I am not sure what highlighted content you are talking about, can you please send me a link to what you are reading.

For RX_CTRL: Mode 3 enables Autoneg while Mode 4 disables Autoneg

When SGMII is set on the PHY the RGMII Clock Skew will be disregarded.

The document from the web does not have the highlighting that I have in my printout, that is strange.

Oops, I forgot to add from the datasheet page 37:

(2) Only Mode 1 and 3 are valid for GPIO_0. Mode 2 and 4 are not applicable and should not be used.

On GPIO_0 I am using MODE 4, is that a problem?

I recommend you follow the datasheet and use MODE1 or MODE3.
