DS160PR410: How to fine tune eye diagram

Hi,

Our testing is currently failing in eye diagram. Report is attached. Can you advise if any procedure to fine tune VOD, DC gain and EQ?

Is there an attachment (report) other than the eye diagram shown in this post?

Would you share the DS160PR410 VOD, DC Gain, and EQ settings selected for this testing?

We suggest setting VOD = 0 dB and DC Gain = 0 dB. The CTLE / EQ gain should be set based on the channel loss. What is the channel loss between PCIe Tx and DS160PR410 RX?

Our setting is VOD=0dB, DC gain=0dB and EQ=index 2. We will try your suggestion. Thank you.191031-01.zip

Hello-

You may also try increasing the DC Gain to + 3.5 dB. If this increase causes issues with the PCIe preset testing, then you can dial the amplitude down by setting VOD to -1.6 dB.

Can I confirm that DS160PR410 can repeat the signals when PCIE link is not up?

Hello Paddy,

The DS160PR410 is fully PCI-SIG compliant linear equalizer / redriver. It does not break PCIe link training nor create interoperability issues. It is on PCI-SIG Integrators List.
