DS90UB947-Q1: How to configue single link mode

Part Number: DS90UB947-Q1

Hi team,

I have a quick question about single link mode. Can you anwer the followings?

In a configuration of single-ended and single FPD link mode of DOUT0,

1. If trying to disable DOUT1 in DS90UB947-Q1, is it okay to change only the following bits? Or any other bits?

     DUAL_CTL1(0x58) FORCE_DUAL(Bit1) = 0: Single FPD-Link III operation

                                     FORCE_LINK(Bit0) = 1 : Forced Single or Dual FPD-LINK III mode

2. In DS90UB947-Q1, is there a register to be able to check which link mode is set?

3. For unused pins of DOUT1(-) terminated with 50ohm and DOUT1(+) left floating, does DS90UB947-Q1 recognize the mode automatically as single FPD link of DOUT0?

Thanks,

Sam Lee

  • Sam,

    Please check below comments:

    1. yes, it is exact. the default setting of reg. 0x5B is to select the FPD-Link port automatically, you can force UB947 work at single FPD-Link mode based on reg. 0x5B[1:0] bits;

    2. you can check reg. 0x5A in ub947. Also, ub948 has similar reg. to check the operation mode

    3. unused dout1 can be left floating directly certainly.

    best regards,

    Steven
