Hi

In a TV board design, there is USB2.0, USB3.0, HDMI interfaces. We are looking for a single channel ESD to cover the whole board in order to unify design and BOM. Also bi-directional is required. Based on these criteria, I only screen out TPD1E01B04, but still not sure if it would work in USB2.0 interface, which is a 5V DC bias during working.

Would you please help confirm and advise the best fit?

Thank you!

  • Hello,

USB2.0 does not have a 5V bias on the D+/- lines so it can be used.

Also each of those do not require bidirectional as a standard so you could potentially use TPD1E05U06 as well.

Also I would say that you with have decent cost and space savings if you move to the 4 channel devices such as TPD4E02B04 or TPD4E05U06
