DP83822I: DP83822I Compliance Testing Scripts

Part Number: DP83822I

Hello support team,

My customer is working to pass 10BASE-T compliance test. They refer application note SNLA266 and have some questions.

*When they run "A.3 10BASE-Te Standard Test Script" on page 12, what kind of waveform is shown? They see same waveform as Script A2, is this proper behavior?

*Application note A3 script shows "//programs DUT to generate data and enables analog loopback mode", does this "analog loopback mode" mean that  PHY send test signal?

Thanks,

Koji Ikeda

  • Hi Koji,

Script A2 should generate a waveform seen in Figure 12.

Script A3 should generate a Manchester waveform, with a long sequence of 0 and 1 states since there should be data transmission.

Analog loopback is a mode to force link. There must be a 100 ohm termination for analog loopback to operate properly as stated in the datasheet on page 42.
