TPS65982: Does the Source OCP function decided by Sink request current

Hi, Team

When I used TPS65982 as a Source, and I configure the PDO as 5V 3A peak current 100%, and the Sink requested 5V 900mA, then the Source OCP trip is about 1.2A;

When configure the PDO as 5V 3A peak current 200%, and the Sink requested 5V 900mA, then the Source OCP trip is about 2.2A.

So, is the Source OCP trip is the (Sink requested current * Peak current), do we have any document describe about this?

I still have some doubt about this, dose it come from PD spec or only defined by TI? It seems that PD 3.0 Spec does not have description about this.

Hi Picher,

This is from the PD Spec. Please refer to section 7.1.11 in the PD3.0 spec. Figure 7-11 in the PD Spec highlights how the peak current impacts the source current capability.
