DS90UB948-Q1: DS90UB949A

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1

hello team

may I ask a question

IN our system there is a processor  with hdmi1.4b output   and a tft with resolutin up to 3840*720@60hz

this tft has dual open LDI interface,  each openLDI with clk up to 104.2mhz,dual open LDI up to 208.4mhz

we want to UB949A as hdmi serializer ,but 948 clk cannot reach 104,2MHZ each openLDI.

which deserializer should we choose

can you give me some idea, thank you

  • Hello,

Currently the fastest deserializer in our portfolio is 948 with a maximum PCLK of 192MHz in dual link mode. Depending on the blanking it seems like 3840*720 @ 60 should be doable with < 192MHz PCLK. Can you share the panel timing spec?

    Best Regards,

    Casey

  • hi,thank you for your quick reply

I check with the tft supplier again

104.2mhz is a mistake ,the new clk is 89.2mhz(minimum clk),dual openLDI up to 178.4MHZ(minimum clk)

though UB948 still meet the requirement (UB948 MAX 170MHZ,right?)

can you give me some idea, thank you

  • Hello,

178.4MHz clock is ok for 948. 948 can support up to 192MHz - please see the datasheet for details.

  •  hello team

    I have a question about 949A  work with 948

our application is as below  picture a

cpu support  HDMI 1.4b 3D video modes with up to 297mhz(TDMS CLOCK) and CEA-861-E video foemats up to 1080p.

if  our tft resolution is 3840*720

I think we should use HDMI 1.4b 3D video mode as below picture b

Does 949A support  HDMI 1.4b 3D video mode as picture b?

    how should we use it

could you give me some advice, thank you

    best regards

  • Hello,

Yes the 949A can support HDMI 3D modes, but those are for sending L/R images which may contain two different display's data. In the case of driving a single display at 3840x720, you do not need to consider 3D HDMI modes.

  • hello

thank you for your quick reply

I do not know HDMI1.4b very well

can we use HDMI1.4b to drive single tft with resolution at 3840*720 at 60fps (clk up to 184.5MHZ) without using  3d hdmi mode when send  single diaplay 's data?

what is the max clk of HDMI 1.4b?

in soc spec , It said  HDMI 1.4b can support  up to 1080p ,   I do not if  3840*720 at 60fps can be drived in normal  HDMI mode.

if we want to use a single tft with resolution at 3840*720 to  display two different's data(for example left side: cluster, right side: NAVI map)

in this case we should use 3D hdmi mode.right?

    best regards

  • Hello,

Please consult the SoC vendors for some clarification on the HDMI capability. 3D mode may imply that the image needs special requirements inside the SoC for the video buffer and may not meet your expectations in terms of how you can fill the actual display area. But from the 949 side it does not matter if 3D mode or non-3D mode is used. There is no configuration needed for the case when a single image is being sent to a single display.

    Best Regards,

    Casey
