Hi team,

My customer want to use our HD3SS3220 as the USB type-C OTG solution in their product.

Could you kindly provide some suggestion for their design as below link? Thank for your help.

Hi,

Please keep in mind that Type-C and OTG are separate. HD3SS3220 does not include OTG functionality as OTG protocol is communicated over USB 2 lines (DP and DM). Is this customer implementing a Host only design (DFP)? Please help me understand the customers application and the functionality they would like to achieve so that I can review the schematic and provide appropriately.

Hi Malik,

They will use type-C connector and set HD3SS3220 to the DRP mode

About the power output capability , main board only provide max. 5V /1000mA power to the type-C connector.

Hi,

Please see comments on schematic below.

For 1.5A current mode, R1110 should be 500k ohm
C1113 and C1114 are not necessary can should be removed.
TX1/TX2 should be AC coupled with 220 nF.
RX1/RX2 should be AC coupled with 330 nF.
If I2C is used please ensure that the I2C pull-up resistor are present and correctly sized. I recommend 4.7K ohm to start.
