DP83867E: SGMII output to MAC de-emphasis registers

Hi again my friends at TI,

SGMII trace length to MAC is about 0.42 meteres. I need to boost the signal a bit, Data sheet does not mention anything about the de-emphasis registers!

Also on SGMII recieve, do I need to place 100 ohms differential termination?

Hello Bahram,

There should not be any issues with driving SGMII trace as long as you do. However, you are correct there is no control to boost the signal.

Whether the receiver requires a 100-ohm termination or not would be receiver dependent, you'd have to check the receiver datasheet for this.

Hi Vibhu,

The receiver is the PHY part. Do I need to place 100 ohms termination at the PHY (After the ac coupling caps) or PHY has built in 100 ohms!
