TCAN4550-Q1: Recovery from Low Vsup

Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN4550

Hi team,

I have a question about the recovery from low Vsup input condition.

When Vsup dropped lower than UVsup and enters STNDBY state while VIO kept supplied regulated 3.3V,

is there any action required before or after Vsup recovered to nominal voltage?

regards,

  • Tsuji-san,

The device's register settings will have to be reconfigured due to the device resetting once the VSUP level falls below the under voltage threshold. Was there something more specific you were referring to in terms of features or functions of the device?

    Regards,

  • Hi Eric,

There is no specific functions they care about, but they simply would like to know if the device will recover normally.

In the datasheet, if the supply voltage dropped below UVsup, the device will go into standby state,

and if the supply voltage drops further below the POR voltage, the device will shutdown completely.

Does all the registers need to be re-loaded if the voltage drops below UVsup, but above POR threshold?

    regards,

  • Tsuji-san,

No, the registers will not reset if the device goes into Standby mode due to Uvsup. As you said, if this falls below the POR level however, the TCAN4550 will need to be reconfigured.

    Regards,
