TMDS442: The datasheet of the device says is supports HDMI 1.3a. Do you know if it will also support HDMI 1.4b for an application with 3840x2160@30Hz?

Part Number: TMDS442
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HD3SS215

e2e,

I am working with TMDS442 as a 1 to 2 HDMI splitter. The datasheet of the device says is supports HDMI 1.3a and my previous design I had a processor supporting resolution of 1920x1080 @ 60Hz. Do you know if it will also support HDMI 1.4b for an application with 3840x2160@30Hz. I tested the device and it seemed to work just fine.  Do you have any suggestions for alternatives? It looks like this is the only 4:2 HDMI switch but possibly 2 HD3SS215s can get the job done for them.

Thank you,

Adam

TMDS442 doesn’t support HDMI 1.4b.  Its max datarate is 2.25Gbps.  HDMI 1.4b max rate is 3.4Gbps. 3840x2160@30Hz data rate is 2.97G, which is outside the max data rate that can be supported by TMDS442. HD3SS215 is the alternative option to support HDMI1.4b.

    Thanks
