TPS66120: Can we use TPS66120 as source out(5V~20V) power path?

Hello expert,

Customer is wondering if we can use TPS66120 on source out side to support 5V~20V. Since I saw this solution is designed for sink power path and need to use with 5V power path. We would like to double check if TPS66120 could support source out 5V~20V as high voltage power path on customer application? Thanks a lot!!

    Hi Ann,

    TPS66020 is specified for 4-V to 22-V for SINK power path. For SOURCE path using the internal switch the spec is for 5V only. 

    It could be possible to design your system with Source path for high voltages but you will need and external switch architecture controlled by the PD device. We don't have such a reference design with our products yet.
