TLIN1029-Q1: RXD Falling Time

Part Number: TLIN1029-Q1

Dear, Sir.

My customer is asking about the RXD falling time.

It is noproblem under the particlurar condition of Rrxd & Crxd, because it is just reference.

Sorry to ask about this kind of matter. I am hoping to get your advice.

Best Regards,

H. Sakai

  • Hello Sakai-san,

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, our team will get back to you next week on this.

  • Hello Sakai-san,

The RXD pin is an Open-Drain architecture and the exact fall time will be dependent on the pullup resistor value and the capacitance of the net such as the parasitic capacitance of the PCB trace and input capacitance of the MCU pin, etc.  Varying the pullup resistance will affect this time.  Do they have a particular resistance they intend to use and do they know how much capacitance is connected to the pin that would need to be discharged?

Is there a specific concern with this time, such as they believe it is either too slow, or too fast?  Or are they unable to make the measurements themselves?  I am not sure if I fully understand the reason for the question in order to provide you the best answer.

As a result of this architecture this is an unspecified parameter and we would need to make measurements under the customer's conditions in order to get accurate results.  If they have a particular pull up resistor value they intend to use but are unsure of the board capacitance, I could make some basic measurements using an EVM for a general reference.

    Regards,

    Jonathan
