TUSB212: The issue of eye diagram at using TUSB212 to receiver side

Part Number: TUSB212

Hi expert,

My customer have a issue of eye diagram at using TUSB212 to receiver side.

Could you please let me know the reason and advice for this issue?

Please refer the following eye diagrams. This issue occurred when they use TUSB212 to receiver side.

Thanks

Muk

  • Hi Muk,

I believe you are seeing signal reflections caused by the addition of the C-to-A and C-to-B adapter that are being used. This could also be influenced by the cable impedance profile. In the NG case have you tried shorter or different model cables? What are the settings used on in the NG case?

  • Barton-san,

    Thank you for your support!

Customer will check it with A-B cable. please wait the update.

    Additional information

-Single waveform in the NG case. And, eye diagram at this case.

Please refer this waveform, Also Could you check about signal reflections?

If you think the reason is signal reflections, could you please let me know how to judge?

    Thanks

    Muk

  • Barton-san,

UPDATE from customer evaluation with A-B cable.

Unfortunately, it is not improved with A-B cable. Should they need EVM special setting for using on receiver side?

  • Hi Barton-san,

Could you please give me your advice?

  • Hi Muk,

In the waveform posted it does not seem that the redrivers are enabled. Please ensure both devices are getting the correct Vcc. Could you measure CD and ENA_HS during the test? Also signal reflections are caused by a changes in impedance of the transmission media and the reflections are proportional to the change in impedance. These changes can be caused by adapters, connectors or even internal to the cable themselves. Large reflections typically show up as a single edge that cuts through the eye mask and/or in the EOP/IDLE proportional of the test packet of the DP/DM waveform.

  • Hi Muk,
