Hello Forum,
I searching for a solution to swicth between two Cameras with an Interface Board that transmit a HD-SDI Signal to a 75 Ohm Coaxial Cable.
Each Camera has its own Interface Board with a 75 Ohm BNC Connector. So I have to switch between this two Datastreams to one 500m Cable.
The Output Signal is HD-VLC witch allows a 1.485Gbps HD signal to be transmitted.
Which Chip is the right choice? I have found the DS25CP102 Cross Point Switch. Can I use this CHIP?
Thanks for your answers.
Hi Marko,
DS25CP102 is the right device you can use. It would be a good idea if you can send us overall block diagram of this application. Perhaps we may have more comments. Please note, you mentioned 500m cable. What data rate is this?
Regards,, Nasser
Dear Mr. Nasser,
in attechment find my Application. I use the CHIP GV7700 with HD-VLC.
With integrated cable driving technology, the GV7700 is capable of transmitting HD video at a compressed 270Mb/s or an uncompressed1.485Gb/s over 75Ω coaxial cable, or differentially over 100Ω twisted pair cable.
Supports all HD modes up to 1080p60.
Compliant with SMPTE 274M and SMPTE 296M.
We use the compressed Mode with 270Mb/s.
Hi Marko,
Thanks for sending this block diagram.
I think I now have a better idea about your application. If i understand this correctly, SDI adapter sends out compressed 270Mbps over 500m coaxial cable. Then you need to switch between these two data stream and send 270M data out to Camera1 and Camera2. Data from switch to these two cameras could be 100-ohm differential. Is my understanding correct? Please elaborate.
Regards,, Nasser
Hi Nasser,
the direction of the Signal Path is the other way round.
Camera1/Camera2 HD-SDI Out --> THEN --> Switch --> 500m Coaxial Cable --> HD-SDI Reciever --> SuperSpeed USB Type-C --> Notebook
At the End, the Notebook is used to view the Pictures from the Cameras.
Each Camera has its own Interface with a 3G-SDI Output Connector (“Video (SDI)”). The interface board is fitted with a Hirose H.FL Micro Coaxial Connector (75 Ohm). The Interface Board has two possible Modes for HD Video.
The First Mode is HD Video, 1080P30 with a Data Rate of 270MB/s compressed.
The Second Mode is Full HD Video, 1080P60 with a Data Rate of 540MB/s compressed.
The HD-SDI Reciever has a Standard 75 Ohm BNC coaxial cable input.
