we use two DS90UB960 in our project. If we want all of the image data arrive to the image signal processor (ISP) at the same time, the frame synchronization signal might be necessary. Do you have any suggestion about the multiple deserializer sync generation?

In our design, we plan to use one SoC GPIO to drive both of DS90UB960 GPIO0 simultaneously to achieve two derserializer data synchronization. Is it ok?

Hi,

Yes, you can. but please be careful the 1:2 driving from SoC to 2 GPIOs from 2pcs ub960. it would be recommended that you can add one buffer here to secure the SI performance.

also, if you can use the UB960 internal sync. mode, you can make 1pcs UB960 generate the frame sync. and then send this frame sync. to GPIO pin, this signal can be used to driver the 2nd UB960's GPIO pin as frame sync.

So, we design to connect 8 cameras to two UB960, through SoC to 2 GPIOs from 2pcs ub960, can we get 8 cameras image data simultaneously? If do that, what's the requirement to SoC port(to software development)?

Yes, it can.

for the second issue, sorry I can't understand it. But for UB960, both chips receive the same frame sync.

for the second issue, the question is whether SoC GPIO need software special develop or it's just common control, to achieve this frame sync function

Hi,

The 2nd is on internal frame sync. generation? if yes, you can refer to the d/s, it has one example how to enable internal frame gen. and how to set the frame high pulse width and low pulse width.
