Can the AT24C16C EEPROM be used with the DS160PR410? App note SNLA320, Understanding EEPROM Programming for the DS160PR410" indicates in Table 5, Byte 0, Bit 5, that an EEPROM larger than 256 bytes may be used, but the comments indicate this is not recommended. Is there an issue with larger EEPROM devices, in particular, the AT24C16C?

Hello Ronnie,

The DS160PR410 can only handle 2-byte address map headers. EEPROM devices with >256 bytes size typically use 3 byte address map headers, thus the note that only 256-byte EEPROMs are recommended.
