TPS65987DDJ: billboard support

hi,

we are working on a docking station for up/down/cross streaming apps.

we where considering TPS65981 but then we learned that probably a PD3.0 owuld have been better (USB-If org EOLing PD2).

so we looked at TPS65987DDH and TPS65988DH, but none of them has internal billboard implementation, but it is still doable (accordingly to

Is my understanding correct? May you confirm if -87/-88 support or not billboard?

    Hi Vincenzo,

    That is correct, the TPS65987D does not natively support billboard. The billboard functionality can be handled through the USB hub which is typically also in a system with TPS65987D. The TPS65987D has a GPIO event for billboard and it also has I2C master events that can be sent to the chip handling the billboard functionality.
