DP83867CR: Magic packets over UDP

Hi all,

one of our customer is using the DP83867 in a product and they use Wake-on-Lan.

When sending a magic packet via EtherType 0x0842, as desired an interrupt is generated.

However, if we they send the magic packet as UDP datagram via port 9, the magic packet will not be recognized by the DP83867.

Does the DP83867 support magic-packets over UDP?

Hello Brian,

Try setting bits WAKE_ON_PATTERN 0x0134 [1] and monitor PATTERN_RCVD 0x0135[1]. Please let me know if this helps support magic packets over UDP.

Hi Vibhu,

they tested it - unfortunately without success.

They then found the RXFSTS 0x0161 register in the Datasheet and when setting this to 0x30[1] WoL over UDP works.
