Hi Yue,

I'm unfortunately not aware of a SPI-based IO expander. Can you please share any info on why this is desired over I2C (which would require fewer connections)?

Some of their output will exceed 100khz, they think SPI is faster than I2C.

Thanks for the feedback - that makes sense. Although TCA6416A supports I2C rates of 400 kHz, toggling an output port value would require multiple byte transfers and so a toggling a port at 100 kHz would not be possible.
