TPS65983B: MRESET and Current Advertisement

Part Number: TPS65983B

1) Does the MRESET pin require special firmware or configuration or should this function as an active high reset input for slave devices by default?

2) How do you configure the USB-C current advertisement value on the CC pins (default, 1.5A or 3A)?

    Hi,

    MRESET will function as described in the data sheet. No configuration or firmware is needed.

    The TPS65983B has a dedicated version of the Application Configuration Tool (GUI) which is available from the device product folder. Because the TPS65983B is constrained to only support official Intel Thunderbolt reference designs, it has a dedicated matching GUI. All available firmware configuration options are present in this GUI.
