TPD4E1U06: Ethernet, TVS, POE

Part Number: TPD4E1U06

Dear Members

Because of filed issue, I am searching the adptive TVS Diode instead of TPD4EU06.

My Product doesn't support POE related to ethernet. But some other user connected product to POE and complained the ethernet communication error.

TPD4E1U06 DCKR was damaged but operated normally after changing the new TPD4E1U06DCKR.

Q1) Please recommend the new protection device to use without problem regardless of POE or Not POE Port.

Q2) Although the idea isn't good , Can I moved the position of TPD4E1U06

  • Hello,

    Are you putting the device on the primary or secondary side of the transformer?

    Do you know that those lines are not going higher than 5V? The VRWM of the device is 5V

  • Hello

    -> Yes, I know

    When the our product was connected to POE port , the TPD4E1U was damaged.

    Althought our product can't support POE , i think that the ethernet communcaiton is good regardless POE or NO POE Port.

  • With POE the common mode voltage with respect to ground is ~50V. Since you have the device grounded on the side that sees the POE voltage it will surely be damaged.

    I would recommend moving the device to the CPU side of the transformer.
